Making Art

In Term 3 Koromako class studied an artist called Hundertwasser and we learnt that he doesn’t like straight lines. We each did a piece of art and we got to make our own designs. First we sketched the art in our art books. Then we had to colour it in our book to show the colours that we wanted to use. Ms Gnad put some black ink on the outlines to make it stand out. We had to wait overnight to let the paint dry. After a night we dyed in the colours that we wanted. When we dyed them they looked beautiful! Ms Gnad hung them up and put names on them.

At the end of the term we did charcoal drawings of Big Ben, Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa as part of our study of countries competing in the Rugby World Cup 2011! Most people did the Eiffel tower. First we drew them in our art books. Then we chose what building we wanted to do. Then Ms Gnad gave us a charcoal piece and a special rubber. We had to shade the picture. When we had finished them they looked nice!
