During Term 3 we studied Procedures. We read instructions and completed science experiments during Reading time. Then we chose our own question we wanted to answer and created out own science experiments. We had to bring our own equipment, record the results and see if our hypothesis was right. My question was “Which liquid reacts the best with baking soda?”. I found out that if you mix baking soda and vinegar it gave the best reaction, the water didn’t react, but the lemon juice and fizzy drink had a small reaction. My hypothesis was correct.

MY SNOWY DAY
When I woke up on Monday morning there seemed to be a silvery glow under my curtains. I got up and pulled them open. “Oh!” I was blinded by a sudden dazzling white. I closed them again and rushed to tell father who was working at his computer. For some reason he didn’t seem to be too pleased about the snow. “Now I won’t be able to go to work ,” he said. “And at school we’ll have to rebuild our hut again,” I giggled. Father smiled. I went to my parents’ room. “It’s snowed,” I told my mother. ‘I know,” she replied. I went back into my room and looked out my window. Everything was white. The pot plants, the path, the trees, including the one that had fallen over in the last big snow. It was as if a giant eraser had rubbed out the scene, showing the white paper underneath. I went back to Father and asked if we could go outside soon. He said we could. Then it started snowing . I took my chair and watched the snow. About ten minutes later we were outside making two huge snowballs. As I rolled the head, Father came out of the house and handed us a carrot for the snowman’s nose. I lifted the head on the body. I put the nose on and added eyes, I tried to put a mouth on but it pinged off. Mother went inside because she was cold. I managed to put on a pair of ears and when I had done that, I dove into a deep snow drift and sank in half a metre. Then I made a snow angel, but it didn’t look quite right so I covered it up again.  Mother called me back inside. I never knew that I loved snow so much.
