Music Lessons at Te Kura o Ōhinetahi
29 Jun 2026

Kia ora koutou,

As Carmel Courtney has taken a sabbatical this year, we are trying to secure music lessons for the remainder of the year at Te Kura o Ōhinetahi.

Based on the recommendation of several whānau & local kura, we have contacted Monster Music, an in-school music programme that offers a combination of music lessons in guitar, drums, ukulele, vocals and keyboard around many Christchurch primary schools.

Monster Music has over 1200 enrolled in-school music students across Canterbury and focuses on teaching music in a modern and fun way. As well as private and group lessons, Monster Music also has a huge emphasis on performance and helping children gain confidence through music.

At this stage, we'd like to find out if there's enough interest in lessons from our community before we go ahead.  If your child might be interested in receiving music lessons in the second half of the year, please register your interest below:

Monster Music Register Your Interest

Again, this is only a “register your interest” form. It's really useful for both Monster Music and our school as it give us an indication of how many students might be interested and which instruments could be popular, so if you are at all interested, please indicate so!

We are looking forward to bringing our ākonga the opportunity to engage with music again in a fun and supportive way.

Ngā mihi,

Consultation on Draft Strategic Plan 2026-2029
31 Mar 2026

Kia ora whānau,

Thank you for sharing your feedback about what matters most to you at our kura, and what you would like to see more of moving forward. We’ve had a fantastic response from our whānau community, and alongside input from our kaiako, students, and wider community, this has been woven into a draft Strategic Plan to guide our kura over the next four years.

Please take some time to read the draft Strategic Plan (attached) and share any thoughts or changes you would like to see. We would appreciate any feedback no later than Friday 17 April.

Every voice counts, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes,

Chloe Delamore-Black
